Every holster ever designed has required compromises among these four basic factors:

1. Comfort. If it is not comfortable you will not use it.

2. Accessibility. If you cannot get your weapon when you need it, it does you no good to have it.

3. Security. A holster must secure the weapon sufficiently to meet all requirements of your normal activities.

4. Concealability.

THERE IS NO SINGLE DESIGN OR STYLE THAT IS PERFECT FOR EVERY USER OR EVERY APPLICATION. WHAT WORKS WELL FOR ONE USER WILL NOT SERVE EVERYONE EQUALLY.

Certain styles emphasize comfort, while compromising on factors such as concealability.

Some styles emphasize concealability, while compromising on factors such as accessibility.

Some styles emphasize security (weapon retention), while compromising on accessibility and concealability.

ONLY YOU CAN DETERMINE WHICH FACTOR(S) ARE MOST IMPORTANT FOR YOUR NEEDS, AND HOW MUCH YOU ARE WILLING TO COMPROMISE ON THE OTHER FACTORS.

In addition to the four basic factors, there are other considerations.

Your physique should be taken into consideration. Height, weight, body profile, arm length, and physical limitations may require certain features.

Your normal activities should be considered. Where do you regularly go? What physical demands do you face in your normal life?

Your usual wardrobe must be considered. What sort of clothing do you most commonly wear? Suits? Sport coats? Athletic wear? Jeans and T-shirts?
